OCD Texas' Annual OCD Walk

One June 1, I participated in the OCD Texas' Annual OCD Walk for the second time. OCD Texas is an official affiliate of The International OCD Foundation and the coolest thing is while I was walking here in Houston, there were thousands of others walking all over the U.S and the world at the same time! Last year, I was a walker and raised funds. Walking was enlightening and fun. This year, I was honored to be one of the sponsors for the walk. As the current Outreach Chair for OCD Texas, I was much more involved in the process this year and know first hand how much work goes into planning a successful event of this size. Many Kudos to the President and other board members who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this event.

I had a great time with the "OCD Community" - other providers, my fellow board members, advocates, volunteers, and patients. The OCD Walk is a time for the OCD Community to come together, to embrace and encourage one another, and each step we take hopefully helps on the journey to eradicate the stigma behind the diagnosis.

Here are a couple of my favorite shots from the day:

With other Houston Area OCD Texas Board Members: Christen Sistrunk, LPC, Saharah Shrout, LPC, Bobby Kane, and Dr. Melissa Fasteau.

If you missed it this year, save the date for next year's walk: June 2, 2018. Check out a recap of the walk on the OCD Texas Blog to learn more!
